At one month old I’m never to hopeful about the images that we’ll get, don’t get me wrong I still give 100% to get the perfect image, it’s just by that age they don’t cooperate as well.  Arianni proved to me that if given enough time and patience any newborn baby can get into a deep enough sleep to get the images that we want.  She was so tired, but didn’t want mom to put her down, eventually the white noise of the vaccuum cleaner knocked her out.  When the session was over I got to hold her and get her back to sleep while mom got everything together, that was the first time in 4 years that I have held a baby and didn’t want to give her up….Don’t tell Wendy, but it kinda made me want another one….kind of….way back in the back of my head.

We photographed Carl and Sarah’s wedding last year.  Carls mom called me and told me they had a baby and wanted some family pictures, OK, but he was deployed to the middle east.  Sarah didn’t know that Carl was coming home for 4 days before leaving Texas and he wanted to surprise her with family pictures when he was back.  About an hour after Carl’s mom called me Sarah called to tell me they had a baby and she wanted to send Carl some pictures as a surprise gift….uff dah.  Sometimes it’s just easy to act dumb.  Here are some images from each session.

I haven’t seen Easton since his one week old pictures, I can’t believe how cute he got!  He was one of the happiest kids I’ve photographed in a while, but he wasn’t afraid to let me know when he was done…and there was no changing his mind.  I really enjoy photographing kids at this age, they’re just so curious about the world around them, even the smallest things can grab their attention.  I would love to be able to see the world through those eyes again.

Avery is the third of Kelly’s babies that I have photographed, her twins just turned two not long ago.  We ended up having to re-schedule our session because for no reason at all Avery got very upset.  When they came back several hours later I thought for sure we were in for a replay of the morning, but after nursing she was out.  Whew, baby photography is emotionally draining but  it always seems to work out in the end.

Matt and Julie set up their session for 4 days afer the baby was due, thats the perfect time for newborn pictures, but we had to wait almost a week and a half for him to be born.  Poor Julie.  Oden was a joy to photograph, he slept great and only crabbed a few times.  I wish they were all good sleepers…

As far as I know we are done with the labor and delivery project at Sanford, but the hospital keeps sending me their nurses babies??  I suppose I could call and ask if they need more images, but for now I will just continue enjoying photographing these little guys and girls.  Here are just a couple from last week.

This is our second session with Maeve, 3 more to go before we can finish her “babies first year” album.  I don’t think I have enjoyed a 4 month old session in a looong time, but with so many great images and such a happy baby how could I not enjoy it?

If you look back through the older posts you will see a newborn shot of her with her hand raised too, so many questions…so little time.

Spencer was one of the babies that scheduled their appointment a couple months before he was even born.  He must have had a change of heart though, because on the day of his session he was more than a little uncooperative (thats new huh?).  We did manage to get a few great images!

Mali was our typical 3 week old, kind of crabby and only sat still for 2 minutes.  Thats OK though the images we did get are adorable!

Well this is the last blog post you will ever get at this link.  We will be going live with a brand new website in the next two weeks and it will have the new and improved blog as the landing page! I will no longer have an exuse to not blog or up[date my website, it will be too easy to do.  Anyway…. Holli worked for us last summer for a while before going off to bigger and better things, after she got pregnant she asked if I would be willing to do a cool maternity “growing” shot where I would photograph her every few weeks and make a composite at the end with the baby.  I love a challange!

And of course we got some really cute shots of just Ian too.
