I know it’s been a long time, and I’ve got about 100 sessions that havent been posted, but here are a few images from 4 out of the 5 sessions I shot this weekend.

First was Jenny’s two kids, one and 4 years old.  It seems that no matter how hard I try somebody always ends up crying, but we did get the cute shots before the tears came out.

Next was Grants senior session. it was just a quick indoor session, but it was still fun.

And finishing up Saturday was Vanessa.  I was worn out, and limping along with my again-swollen ankle, but the creativity was flowing!!  Senior pictures aren’t what they used to be!  Vanessa’s mom brought her senior pictures to show me a few things and even though they were very well done the style of images was so different than what we do today.

…More to come from Vanessa later…

Sunday afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite families.  I have been “shooting” them for a few years now and it is so cool to watch the boys grow!

I have always said I would do this for free if I could, but my landlord wont let me do that.  After 10 years of PPA speakers talking about working less and making more, and “charge more and they will pay it” mentality I have had enough!  I am the happiest when I am behind the camera, and if given a choice between working 15 minutes or 8 hours I would choose 8 hours (of camera time).  I WANT TO PHOTOGRAPH YOU!!!  So with all that said Scott Meyer Photography is changing our pricing and policies to benifit both you and us.

Sessions will all include a CD with copyright release, a 6-up proofbook, and online viewing and ordering.  A one hour session is only $300 (plus tax) and each additional hour is $100.  Our print prices have been reduced by up to 80%!  4×6’s are only $5, 8×10’s are only $12.00.  To make things even easier for you, we are also shipping your proofbook and CD to you so you don’t have to figure out a time that we can both be here, even your prints you order through us will be shipped to you.

Since this is such a huge change if you have paid a session fee to us in the last 12 months all you have to do is email and we will mail you a coupon for $50 off your nest session (you can even give it to a friend if you want).

Because I want to shoot more hours of the day I need your help too.  If you refer one or more friends to us I will send you a $50 coupon too (limit one).

Some of our models have chosen to have one last session, and Lindsey was one of them.  You might recognize her from our last mailing piece sent to Sioux Falls High School Seniors,  the entire piece was from her first 2 sessions…not just one lucky shot!  I don’t think I would ever get tired of photographing her!

I am finishing up another project with Sanford Womens Clinic.  The hallway past the Womens Clinic into the birthplace will be lined with portraits of women af all ages that I have been working on.  Last night I ended up at my moms knitting group at Scooters for a few shots of the women knitting.  Here are two that I really enjoy!

After neglecting both my website, and blog for so long I have decided to merge the two into one!  From now on you will go to and land here….at the blog, then at the top there are links to the different types of photography we do.  Parts of it are still under construction but since I let the old blog die I thought I’d better get something going!!  Enjoy.

Today Wendy and I got to photograph Cresta and Culley's wedding.  I don't think that we have ever shot a "cowboy" wedding where the guys were allowed to wear their hats for pictures!  We had a great time, I got to play outside with my studio lighting, the guys kept us laughing most of the day, and the nice tears came out (even her brother lost it durring his speech).

Wendy and I photographed Laura and Griffin's wedding almost 2 years ago.  Today they were in town from Minneapolis and Griffin needed some headshots done so….

Leah brought the boys in for Owens one year session and to get a couple shots with the boys together.  Thatcher, who generally hates being photographed, was all smiles while his brother screamed bloody murder.  We got one really cute image of the two boys, and rescheduled Owen for later in the afternoon…after nap #2.  When they returned both boys were great.
