I have always said I would do this for free if I could, but my landlord wont let me do that.  After 10 years of PPA speakers talking about working less and making more, and “charge more and they will pay it” mentality I have had enough!  I am the happiest when I am behind the camera, and if given a choice between working 15 minutes or 8 hours I would choose 8 hours (of camera time).  I WANT TO PHOTOGRAPH YOU!!!  So with all that said Scott Meyer Photography is changing our pricing and policies to benifit both you and us.

Sessions will all include a CD with copyright release, a 6-up proofbook, and online viewing and ordering.  A one hour session is only $300 (plus tax) and each additional hour is $100.  Our print prices have been reduced by up to 80%!  4×6’s are only $5, 8×10’s are only $12.00.  To make things even easier for you, we are also shipping your proofbook and CD to you so you don’t have to figure out a time that we can both be here, even your prints you order through us will be shipped to you.

Since this is such a huge change if you have paid a session fee to us in the last 12 months all you have to do is email scott@scottmeyerphoto.com and we will mail you a coupon for $50 off your nest session (you can even give it to a friend if you want).

Because I want to shoot more hours of the day I need your help too.  If you refer one or more friends to us I will send you a $50 coupon too (limit one).

Some of our models have chosen to have one last session, and Lindsey was one of them.  You might recognize her from our last mailing piece sent to Sioux Falls High School Seniors,  the entire piece was from her first 2 sessions…not just one lucky shot!  I don’t think I would ever get tired of photographing her!

Just a couple shots that I really love!

Last Saturday’s wedding was fabulous!  The couple was fun and the venue was perfect, the only thing that kept this from being 100% perfect was the 101 degree heat index and the 100%  humidity and the complete lack of wind at the Japanese Gardens.  Wendy and I sweated it out with everyone else and tried not to comlain, lots of water helped.   after the ceremony we got to head downtown Sioux Falls for some drinking and bridal pictures in the alley behind our studio. On our way home from the Brandon Golf Course it was a little nerve wracking driving into what looked like the storm to end all storms, but even that ended up just fine.  I love photographing weddings in Sioux Falls!

I am finishing up another project with Sanford Womens Clinic.  The hallway past the Womens Clinic into the birthplace will be lined with portraits of women af all ages that I have been working on.  Last night I ended up at my moms knitting group at Scooters for a few shots of the women knitting.  Here are two that I really enjoy!

At one month old I’m never to hopeful about the images that we’ll get, don’t get me wrong I still give 100% to get the perfect image, it’s just by that age they don’t cooperate as well.  Arianni proved to me that if given enough time and patience any newborn baby can get into a deep enough sleep to get the images that we want.  She was so tired, but didn’t want mom to put her down, eventually the white noise of the vaccuum cleaner knocked her out.  When the session was over I got to hold her and get her back to sleep while mom got everything together, that was the first time in 4 years that I have held a baby and didn’t want to give her up….Don’t tell Wendy, but it kinda made me want another one….kind of….way back in the back of my head.

We photographed Carl and Sarah’s wedding last year.  Carls mom called me and told me they had a baby and wanted some family pictures, OK, but he was deployed to the middle east.  Sarah didn’t know that Carl was coming home for 4 days before leaving Texas and he wanted to surprise her with family pictures when he was back.  About an hour after Carl’s mom called me Sarah called to tell me they had a baby and she wanted to send Carl some pictures as a surprise gift….uff dah.  Sometimes it’s just easy to act dumb.  Here are some images from each session.

I haven’t seen Easton since his one week old pictures, I can’t believe how cute he got!  He was one of the happiest kids I’ve photographed in a while, but he wasn’t afraid to let me know when he was done…and there was no changing his mind.  I really enjoy photographing kids at this age, they’re just so curious about the world around them, even the smallest things can grab their attention.  I would love to be able to see the world through those eyes again.

I think this is Reid’s 5th or 6th session with us, and he just keeps getting more adporable each time.  Here are a few from his 2 year session yesterday.
